Data

What will your data be used for?

We are running a research project on women and finances to get a better understanding of the specific problems faced by women when planning their financial futures so that we can inform how products and services could be built with women's needs in mind.

We will be collecting a range of data from interviews and surveys that will be published online in a report of our findings at the end of the project.

This data will be used for research only and not to sell you or anyone else anything.

After the project is over we will destroy all personally identifiable data, and will not use anything personally identifiable in the research report unless given express permission by you that we can.

The aim of our research is to improve the financial products and services available to women using their first-hand experience to guide us.

For concerns and queries reach out to us at thegoodfutureproject@gmail.com.

Who is running the research?

Bailey Kursar and Billie Bowbrick, funded by Touco Lab Ltd. Read about Bailey and Touco Lab Ltd on our About page, and about Billie on our homepage.

What is involved in the research?

The research will consist of a short survey – which should take around five minutes to complete – and a remote interview.

We'd love to have the opportunity to talk to you in a remote interview but, if you are unable to do so, you are welcome to still be part of the research by completing our survey

The survey

The survey asks some basic questions about you, explore a bit about your experience of financial planning and advice and, finally, ask about any plans you may have for your financial future.

The interview

The interview will be a one-on-one chat conducted via Zoom or similar and should last around 20 minutes. We will get to know you a bit, listen to your concerns around money and finances and then ask some questions about your experience of financial advice. We hope that our questions won’t feel difficult to answer, but if you do not want to answer a question for any reason, you do not need to do so. You will be free to take a break during the interview or end the interview at any time. Topics that might be discussed include:

  • Planning for retirement and pension investments;
  • Planning finances post-divorce or separation;
  • Reviewing your financial plan because of a life shock, or a windfall.

How will I benefit from being part of the research?

We hope that being a part of this research will help you get a better understanding of your own financial health. Having a conversation about your experience of financial advice and plans for your future could help clarify your thought, prioritise what's important to you and, get things off your chest that may be concerning you. Our aim is that as a result of this research we will be able to help improve the resources available to women to address the concerns that you may be having.

Where will my data be stored?

For a list of software which we are using to conduct our research, reach out to us at thegoodfutureproject@gmail.com. Data will be stored, used and destroyed with GDPR rules front of mind.

After the project is over we will destroy all personally identifiable data, and will not use anything personally identifiable in the research report unless given express permission by you that we can.

What if I no longer want to be part of the research?

You can end the interview at any time and can let us know if you do not want your interview to be used as part of the research, you can also let us know if you do not want the data from your survey to be included. Reach out to us at thegoodfutureproject@gmail.com if you have any concerns about this.
